The Kiral Defense™ Reduced Angle / Shock-Absorbing Backstrap for Glock® Pistols is an innovative upgrade designed to enhance your pistol’s ergonomics and recoil management. It was developed in conjunction with and officially approved for duty use by the Kent County Sheriff’s Office and Grand Rapids Police Department in western Michigan.

• Failsafe Design: The firearm will continue to function even if the backstrap is damaged or detached.
• Natural Grip Angle: Unlike the factory Glock® design that forces your wrists to overextend downwards, this backstrap adjusts the grip angle to more closely match modern handguns like the Staccato® 2011® and Smith & Wesson® M&P® by reducing the angle by 10 degrees. This means your Glock® now points more naturally, offering faster and more intuitive aiming and greater potential for accuracy.
• Improved Grip Profile: The backstrap is designed to fill the palm of the hand and help keep the Glock® pistol on target. Our law enforcement test partners noted that it was easier to keep the dot visible in their optic window during rapid fire with this backstrap installed. This backstrap also tends to reduce the tendency for new Glock® shooters to pull shots off target when the pistol shifts in the hand during the trigger press.
• Trigger Reach Issue Addressed on Micro Pistols – When installed the Glock® 43X or 48, the trigger reach is lengthened to mimic a Glock® Model 19, providing substantially greater trigger control for better accuracy.
• Shock-Absorbing Rubber Insert: The backstrap’s soft, shock-absorbing rubber insert is engineered to reduce felt recoil in the web of the hand, offering an extra layer of comfort and stability. Its novel design helps mitigate the impact of each shot by flexing inward when compressed, allowing for quicker and more accurate follow-ups and less hand fatigue during extended range sessions.
• Durable Polymer Construction: The outer shell is made from abrasion-resistant, rugged nylon, designed for maximum durability. Combined with a lengthened mounting pin for easy, non-permanent installation, this backstrap stays secure and performs under even the toughest conditions.

Q: Does this product fit pistols from Shadow Systems®, Palmetto State Armory®, or any other clones? A: No, though we may offer compatible products in the future on a separate page of our website.

Q: Do you plan to offer a version for gen 1-3 and large frame G20/G21 models? A: Yes, they are in the works and should be available in the next few weeks if everything works out.

Q: I see that the trigger reach is extended with the shock-absorbing backstrap installed. What is the exact distance? A: The shock-absorbing backstrap increases trigger reach to approximately 2.9-3.0 inches, or somewhere between what the factory medium and large backstrap provide on a standard frame Glock® pistol. This was the ideal trigger reach we found, through testing with our law enforcement partners, for medium-sized hands and larger to pull the trigger straight to the rear for the greatest possible accuracy. We will be offering a short-reach backstrap (without shock-absorbing insert) for G17/19/similar models very soon for those that have smaller hands.

Q: Is this actually made in the USA? A: Yes, the products and even the printed labels are made in the USA, and our team packages and ships everything from our own warehouse.
