The Kiral Defense™ Reduced Angle / Shock-Absorbing Backstrap for Glock® Pistols is an innovative upgrade designed to enhance your pistol’s ergonomics and recoil management. It was developed in conjunction with and officially approved for duty use by the Kent County Sheriff’s Department and Grand Rapids Police Department’s Special Response Team in western Michigan.
- Failsafe Design: The firearm will continue to function even if the backstrap is damaged or detached.
- Natural Grip Angle: Unlike the factory design that forces your wrists to overextend, this backstrap adjusts the grip angle to mirror modern handguns like the Walther® PDP, SIG Sauer® P320, and the classic 1911, by reducing the angle by 10°. This means your Glock® now points more naturally, offering faster and more intuitive aiming and greater potential for accuracy.
- Improved Grip Profile: The backstrap is designed to fill the palm of the hand and help keep the Glock® pistol on target. Our law enforcement test partners noted that it was easier to keep the dot visible in their optic window during rapid fire with this backstrap installed. This backstrap also tends to reduce the tendency for new Glock® shooters to pull shots off target when the pistol shifts in the hand during the trigger press.
- Trigger Reach Issue Addressed on Micro Pistols – When installed the Glock® 43, 43X, or 48, the trigger reach is lengthened to mimic a Gen 5 Glock® 19 with medium backstrap installed, providing substantially greater trigger control.
- Shock-Absorbing Polyurethane Insert: The backstrap’s soft, shock-absorbing polyurethane insert is engineered to absorb recoil energy, offering an extra layer of comfort and stability. Its innovative design and material helps mitigate the impact of each shot, allowing for quicker and more accurate follow-ups and less hand fatigue during extended range sessions.
- Durable Polymer Construction: The outer shell is made from abrasion-resistant, rugged nylon, designed for maximum durability. Combined with a lengthened stainless steel mounting pin for easy, non-permanent installation, this backstrap stays secure and performs under even the toughest conditions.
